Happy New Year! I hope you all had an amazing New Years Eve. Justin and I celebrated in Panama City Beach with some of our closest friends, where we spent the evening dancing away to a fabulous cover band. (Thanks to a certain pair of gold pumps, my feet are currently in recovery mode... A small price to pay for a truly fabulous night) 2012 was such an amazing year, both personally and professionally. The highlight, of course, being my WEDDING! Eek. I can't thank you all enough for your support during all the ups and downs of 2012. It truly does mean the world to me and I feel so blessed to have such an incredible group of followers. As for 2013, I have a lot of things on my list that I'm super excited to conquer. One of the small tasks is to organize my jewelry collection and keep it that way. I currently have mixing bowls full of bracelets, which you may remember seeing here, but I hope to get them all sorted and organized in a way that makes layering on my favorite bangles a pleasure instead of a treasure hunt. You can probably tell by these pictures that I'm facing quite the battle. Do you have a creative way that you keep your jewelry organized?

PS. I can't wait to share all the pics from New Years later this week. Here's a sneak peek. :)

Try organising your bracelets by colour & size?
ReplyDeleteFor example, I put my chunkier ones in a basket/ bowl (because they hold up their shape independantly, but then I thread my 'slinky' & small bracelets either on a ribbon (like a necklace- saves space!) or onto a jewellery pole.
I also sort them according to colour (silver, gold etc), & sometimes theme/ style too (so the wooden & 'boho' bracelets go together, whereas the metal & 'sleek' ones go in another compartment).
Hope that helps? :)
I have really enjoyed following your blog this past year and. You have had a lot of exciting opportunities come your way in 2012 and your posts are so inspirational. Here's to a fabulous 2013 - Happy New Year.

Pfff, there are too many ways organize your jewelry.. keeping it organized is another thing, I never manage.. I simply have too many jewelry! Bowls are great to keep bracelets. For my necklaces & earrings I drilled some vintage hooks on the inside of my closet door. Easy...open the door, pick an outfit and right away choose a necklace and earrings :)!
ReplyDeleteHappy 2013! Wishing you all the best!

Love all your arm candy! Happy new year!
ReplyDeleteI picked up a thin vase and it is now serving as a bracelet stand. Easy, inexpensive and it looks really cool :) Good luck in your organization hunt!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I may have to try it.
DeleteI love arm candy! Unfortunately my arms are, well, skeletal so arm armour usually just looks odd on me.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried the good old pin boards organisation? Replace the daggy pin board frames with fancy old mirror/picture frames around the pin boards to pretty them up.
Happy New Year!

I put decorative duck tape over a toilet paper or paper towel roll and layer my bangles on there. Then I place them in the drawers of my free standing jewelry box. The rolls work great because you can cut them to custom fit your drawers!

Basically no matter how I try to organize my bracelets, they always end up in one big jumble because I never put them back correctly ;) Maybe try those display bars like they have in jewelry stores?

ReplyDeleteAlso your New Year's Eve outfit is so cute. I love that you went for a sequin skirt instead of the typical sequin dress look.

I make antler jewelry holders. I take unique cuts of wood and screw the times into the wood. They make perfect holders where I can still see everything. Not sure if it'd match your decor but I could always make you one :)
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love accessories. Especially bracelets. It really is like having a party on your arm! Accessories can really compliment and outfit and this post is great for showing that. In my opinion you can never go too overboard with accessories!
